Join your friends as the festival features new food, activities and entertainment for all
September 2nd, 2010—Annapolis, MD— The Maryland Seafood Festival is back in full force and adding even more elements to the event for festival-goers of all ages to enjoy. Last year’s event had a huge turnout of over 15,000 people, but since this time last year, ticket sales have doubled as everyone is gearing up to enjoy all the new and traditional events the festival has to offer. For only $12 (or $10 online), you too can experience the food and activities featured at this year’s festival!
New to this year’s event is the addition of more professional food vendors to the already vast list of food options available. Over 40 additional menu items will be featured at the event from new Annapolis-favorite restaurants such as Lures Bar and Grille, Annapolis Seafood Markets, West End Grill, and Waterman’s Tavern.
“The Maryland Seafood festival is known for showcasing the best seafood the Chesapeake region has to offer,” said Mike Willand, General Manager of Lures Bar and Grille. “We are extremely excited about highlighting our food amidst all the other local food talent the festival attracts.”
If you’re looking for something other than seafood to please your palette, the festival is also bringing “Dessert Island” to this year’s event, which will feature an array of local restaurants and caterers sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. Other new features of the 43rd Maryland Seafood Festival include:

The festival is committed to making the event as environmentally friendly as possible. We have undertaken many new initiatives this year to visibly make a statement of our dedication to sustainability. Eco stations with both waste and recycling bins will be readily accessible around the festival grounds. We even hope to feature a pilot composting area, which will hopefully help us reach our goal of reducing waste by 50%. Signage and other printing materials will use “eco-friendly” materials and reusable cups will be offered to festival-goers with the incentive of getting discounts on refills. A host of other measures will be taken to lessen the festival’s environmental impact, such as “greening” our transportation with eCruisers electric shuttles, using reusable tote bags, employing grease recycling for bio-diesel, and donating surplus food to the Maryland Food Bank to name a few. In order to continue to celebrate the Chesapeake Bay and all it has to offer, we must do everything we can to protect it!
“We are overjoyed to be offering attendees even more food and entertainment options than last year,” said Alicia Hartlove, spokesperson for the Maryland Seafood Festival. “From foodies to families and everyone in between, festival-goers are sure to find something that excites them.”
